Pokemon Donuts: What are they really?

You may remember watching Pokemon Indigo League as a child, or even more recently as an adult. If you do you probably wondered why Japanese donuts look so odd. Well that is because they were never donuts! The delicious treats you see Ash, Misty, Brock, and their Pokemon tucking into are in fact onigiri rice balls just like me. The black patch is nori seaweed, which is wrapped around the rice.

Ash Ketchum (known as Satoshi in Japan) finds he has caught a half eaten onigiri in his poke ball, ooops.
